Mobility – the difference between mobility and
flexibility.
a. Flexibility is driven by your own force.
b. Control – muscle activation and power position
i. Ability to create tension under a given ROM
c. Mobility is the ability to reach a certain range of motion with proper stability and power. There is such thing as too much flexibility as it can make you weaker. Tension is necessary to create power.
3. Structure-
a. Proper Muscle activation - understanding proper body position. This can be accomplished through understanding muscle activation. If they can learn to activate the necessary muscles on demand, that will increase/create Explosiveness
b. Proper body position – get in the athletic position. Proper position is necessary in the weight room likewise in order to load the correct muscles, prevent injury and ultimately achieve the desired results. A drill will never translate to a skill if there isn’t correct body position
